Precinct Organization Activities

Precincts are the most local level of politics, and where we can make the most impact. Participate in precinct leadership, or just be a part of the activities in your local precinct.

Our goal is to organize the 17 precincts in McDowell County, each with a Chairperson, a Vice-chair, a Secretary and 2 neighborhood Captains. View the map of our precincts at the Board of Elections website.

At our January meeting, Dave Walters, our Precinct Leadership Coordinator gave a presentation on the role of each leadership position. Several members stepped up and volunteered for one of these roles. While this was a great success, we still have positions available in all precincts.

At our County Convention the morning of March 11th, (please save this date) those volunteers will have the opportunity to “officially” be elected into those positions.

Once volunteers are elected, Dave will hold a training session, which will provide the knowledge and support needed to fulfill the role. To clarify, we’ll ALL be working together to reach your neighbors and our community. Please consider applying for a leadership position in your precinct.
